ana coggon

Let me introduce myself - I am Ana Coggon, my Company is Redbook Garden Design, based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. I am a well-established, professional garden designer and have been running Redbook since 2002. The name Redbook is linked with the history of garden design.

Garden Design wasn't my first career - I spent many years in sales and latterly in corporate project management. My father died suddenly in 2001 and this really shook me. I realised that I was spending my life doing something that I wasn't passionate about. I took stock and decided to follow my heart.

'Actually I just love plants and gardens, give me any excuse and I will be off to have a look around a beautiful and inspirational garden. Most holidays, visits to friends, tennis tournaments (yes I love tennis too) and days out will usually incorporate a garden or nursery visit within the itinerary. I feel happy and at peace in a garden; I think that most people share that feeling.' Ana

show gardens

Accolades include receiving awards for the two show gardens that I designed early in my career. My 'His and Hers' garden gained a bronze medal at the BBC Gardeners World Live show in 2002 and was featured on BBC Gardeners World. In 2003 I designed a garden 'In the Pink' for UK Style TV. This won a Gold Medal and Best in Show at the Blenheim Palace Flower Show. Again, it was featured on TV.

qualifications:

In 2004 attained a Post Graduate Diploma in Landscape Design from the Oxford College of Garden Design which is one of the top garden design colleges in the UK. Prior to this I had studied at the Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA) and gained a HND with distinction in Horticulture and Garden Design.
